Mae Kok River Village Resort Details
LOCATION: Located 173 kms (3 hrs) north of Chiang Mai, and 90 kms (1.5 hrs) from Chiang Rai on the banks of the Maekok River, in the Thai-Burma border village of Ban Thaton. Ban Thaton is the traditional halfway point on the north’s most popular tourist route, that which runs between Chiang Mai – The Golden Triangle & Chiang Rai. It is also the boarding point for the well established long tailed boat / bamboo raft / river barge & canoe trips between Ban Thaton & Chiang Rai.
ACCOMMODATION: Set in 3 acres of riverfront property on the south bank of the Maekok River, on the outskirts of the village of Ban Thaton. A small manmade stream runs through the property and provides water for the well developed gardens.
IN-ROOM FACILITIES: All rooms have climate control / air conditioning, modern quality Thai furnishings including desks & chairs, private stone floor hot water bathrooms with showers, wash basins & western toilets, dressing rooms, walk in clothes area, color TV's with 24 hour satellite programs, IDD telephones, refrigerators, kettle & tea / coffee sets, unlimited drinking water. Pool Side Suites are 40 sq. meters in size plus a 12 sq. meter verandah facing onto the pool. One suite has been specially designed for handicapped use (also has connecting suite option).
DINNING & ENTERTAINMENT: The Paddy Fields Restaurant overlooks the river and terrace. The well explained 100+ dish menus (Thai & Western food. The Rice Mill Bar, the bar is well stocked with beer, spirits, wines and cocktails, and it stays open until late.
