The province Krabi, in southern Thailand’s Andaman Sea, is the tropical paradise and only an hour’s flight from Bangkok. Krabi is blessed with a plethora of natural wonders for the senses from beaches and bays to waterfalls and Hot Springs. For the active travelers, there are a host of nearby sea excursions and snorkeling trips that can be easily arranged. Offshore the uninhabited islands of Poda, Rang Nok and Hua Kwan offer opportunities for sea canoe expeditions, snorkeling and diving.
Lanta Islands: Further south of Krabi, Lanta Islands consists of many different size islands, some of which are surrounded by beautiful coral reefs such as Ko Ha, Ko Rok and Ko Hai. Their unspoiled beaches are preparing to be the next big destination, with numerous resorts now under construction on Lanta Yai Island. It is the place where the national park’s office is situated and home of sea gypsies. The island can be reach by boat from Krabi Town and the trip takes about 45 minutes.
