The province Krabi, in southern Thailand’s Andaman Sea, is the tropical paradise and only an hour’s flight from Bangkok. Krabi is blessed with a plethora of natural wonders for the senses from beaches and bays to waterfalls and Hot Springs. For the active travelers, there are a host of nearby sea excursions and snorkeling trips that can be easily arranged. Offshore the uninhabited islands of Poda, Rang Nok and Hua Kwan offer opportunities for sea canoe expeditions, snorkeling and diving.
Phi Phi Islands: One of the world’s most beautiful tourist destinations, it can be reached by boat from either Phuket or Krabi by about the same distance (1.30 –2.00 hours). Phi Phi Don, the larger island, had idyllic tropical beaches lining its southern and eastern shores. It attracts tourists to marvel at glistening white sands, towering cliffs and blue water. Diving is one of the major attractions for exploring the offshore coral reefs and marine life. Phi Phi Le, the nearby uninhabited island, offers various attractions such as Tham Viking, a large cave with swallows’ nest as well as ancient paintings of Viking boats, Pi Le Bay and Sa Ma Bay are suitable for scuba diving, and Maya Bay, a white sandy beach. Accommodations are available on Phi Phi Don where a village is situated.
